Description
Mechanical Designers are primarily tasked with the development of mechanical systems and components. This involves conceptualizing and detailing every part and assembly in a system, utilizing sophisticated software tools such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) for drafting and modeling. They work closely with engineers and other design professionals to refine product structures and integrate effective mechanical solutions. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications is pivotal, along with adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
Specific Tasks and Duties
- Creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Performing calculations for dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements.
- Collaborating with engineers and project managers to evaluate the feasibility of proposed projects.
- Revising and updating drawings and designs based on feedback and testing results.
- Documenting design processes, assembly instructions, and other project requirements for manufacturing teams.
- Testing prototype designs to ensure they meet the required specifications and adjusting designs as necessary.
