Description

A Lab Analyst performs various laboratory tests and analyses to support research, production, and quality control processes. They ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards, document findings, and contribute to maintaining the lab’s efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Analysis: Perform chemical, physical, or biological analyses on samples (e.g., water, soil, food, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Record and analyze data from tests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols.
  • Quality Control: Verify that products or materials meet specified standards by conducting routine quality checks.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain lab instruments (e.g., spectrometers, chromatographs, centrifuges) and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of experiments, test results, and observations. Prepare reports and communicate findings to supervisors or relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Safety: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), adhere to safety guidelines, and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, FDA, ISO).
  • Research Support: Assist in research and development projects, offering analytical expertise to drive innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a laboratory setting preferred (internship or work experience).
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in using laboratory instruments and software.
    • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Work Environment:

  • Laboratory setting with potential exposure to hazardous materials.
  • May require wearing protective gear (e.g., gloves, goggles, lab coats).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with specific industry standards or certifications (e.g., GMP, GLP).
  • Experience in specialized techniques like HPLC, GC-MS, or microbiological testing.
