Description

A Test Analyst job description involves designing and executing tests to ensure software and system quality by identifying defects and bugs. Responsibilities include developing test plans, writing test cases, performing manual and automated testing, logging and tracking issues, and collaborating with development teams. Key Responsibilities
  • Test Planning and Design:
    Create comprehensive test plans, detailed test cases, and test scripts to effectively evaluate software functionality.

  • Test Execution:
    Perform manual or automated tests to identify bugs, defects, and inconsistencies in the software.

  • Defect Management:
    Document, log, and track all identified issues using specialized tools like JIRA or TestRail, ensuring they are addressed.

  • Analysis and Reporting:
    Analyze test results to assess software quality, identify potential improvements, and generate detailed reports for stakeholders.

  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand software features and ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Process Improvement:
    Continuously update and refine test cases and testing processes to align with changing requirements and industry best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Familiarity with testing tools such as JIRA, TestRail, and Selenium.

  • Knowledge of programming languages like Python or Java can be beneficial.
