Job Title: Quality Analyst (QA)

Department: Engineering / Quality Assurance

Reports To: QA Lead / Engineering Manager

Job Summary
The Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring software products meet functional, performance, and quality standards before release. This role designs and executes test plans, identifies defects, and works closely with development teams to resolve issues throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely feedback
  • Design, develop, and execute test cases and test scripts (manual and/or automated)
  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
  • Collaborate with developers and product owners to clarify requirements and resolve issues
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives)
  • Maintain and update test documentation, test data, and test environments
  • Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and coordinate with business stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance/testing
  • Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC
  • Experience writing and executing test cases, test plans, and test scripts
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, ALM, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of SQL for data validation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automated testing tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, etc.)
  • Exposure to API testing (Postman, SoapUI)
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps)

Work Environment

  • Full-time position; remote/hybrid/onsite as applicable
  • May require occasional overtime during release cycles
